Do you believe business should be easy?
Or are you still stuck in working hard or in the hustle?
One of the things I am known for is making the complex simple, and making the hard easy.
And it pains me to see so many women working endless hours on their business in activities that are not income-generating.
Yes, I get that we need to be on social media, doing marketing, getting PR and being proactive in our business, but it needn’t require working 24/7. In fact, I actually believe that you may well be doing more harm to your business that good.
See, everything we do, everything we say and everything we think is energy.
Think about the energy you are putting out to the world if you are;
– constantly in full drive mode;
– are in a state of anxiety;
– are stressed or in fear mode;
– are in a state of hustle.
Do you really think more clients come as a result of this type of hyper-energy?
For me, my best ever months in business have coincided with having the birth of my second baby, travelling overseas (like I am right now in beautiful Bali), or in my ‘off’ weeks from work. I have found it is not the hustle that gets me clients… it is when I am in receiving mode.
So how do you get into receiving mode?
I personally do the any one (or more) of the following to get into the receiving mode;
1. Let go.
I let go of any attachment to outcomes, and allow things to flow. Sometimes we (our thoughts and vibration) are the very thing that stops money and clients flowing to us.
I go back into full trust that the clients, the money, the sales will all come. And they ALWAYS do when in this mode.
Again, my highest business months have been when I not so intently focused on my business – yes I put the work in that is required, but I am focused on how wonderful life is and being in the present moment.
Clients come when I am in a pure state of gratitude. The more grateful I am for what I have (money, family, friends, life, health and so on), the more I am in flow with my business.
5. Self care.
And this includes self love. To be in full receiving mode we need to ensure we are taking care of our own physical, emotional and spiritual needs. It’s that old ‘own oxygen mask first’ syndrome that we women tend to not be good at. Well, it’s time to nurture yourself if you want your business to flow!
When I can truly tap into the abundance that is all around me – energetically and physically, that is when I find business flows the best. Getting into a mode of abundance means that I focus on what IS rather than what ISN’T.
And if you have been following me long enough you will know that one of my main messages to you is that;
You get what you focus on.
Focus on lack, you get more reality of lack.
Focus on abundance, you get more abundance.
So in keeping with all of the above and walking my talk, I write to you from poolside, Bali with a coconut drink in hand. I have spent five relaxing days connecting with friends and family celebrating my mum’s 70th birthday. It has been a very relaxed holiday with a lot of pool time, cocktail time and eating fabulous food (actually, some not so fabulous but hey, that’s Bali for you).
I am really proud to live what I preach – and at times, when I do wander slightly off the path, I have the tools to bring myself back to focus on the above steps and bring ease, flow and simplicity back into my business.
I am by no means perfect, but I am now so in-tune that I can catch myself quickly and bring myself back into alignment.
So if you are currently experiencing a lack of flow in your business, or things are feeling ‘hard’, take a look at my 6 steps above to get in the receiving mode. I can guarantee it will make the difference you need.
